The Grampians

We went to the Grampians on the weekend... well, when I say 'we', I have to note that Jack stayed home for a special weekend at Grannie and Pa's so he could do swimming at school, and attend his best mate's birthday party on the weekend.  He had a GREAT time!!

The rest of us left on Friday and met up with Marcia & Geoff, and their friends, Cam and Kat.

It was a beautiful caravan park, nestled in the bushland, with a gorgeous big grassed area near us absolutely PACKED with kangaroos, perfect for throwing frizbees and enjoying the views of the mountains.

The caravan park had a large number of friendly parrots who enjoyed being hand fed the bird seed provided by the park.  Our local birdmen were also pretty happy with the experience:

On Saturday we visited the Halls Gap Zoo which was pretty good.  Ostriches, red pandas, and loads of small monkeys.  It even had a giraffe!  I was sort of expecting another Healsville Sanctuary so it was a bit of a surprise.  Of course, the kids were most impressed with the playground!

After that it was off on a drive to MacKenzie Falls which involved a stop off at 'Reid's Lookout' for lunch:

And then back home for Frizbees, then bed:

We will definitely be going back to the Grampians, it was absolutely beautiful.
