After Jack's first tooth loss, and the generous tooth fairy's contribution of $5 for the lost item, Jack has made the important purchase of his first 'camo men' (ie army figurines). He then went back to the shop with Justin to purchase some tanks to go with them.
The new game which occupied both Jack and Cooper this morning until after 7.45am (allowing their parents a long awaited sleep in), was building forts for the army men and the tanks.
THANK YOU - IMAGINATIVE PLAY!!!

Toothless...
Jack has passed the important milestone of having just lost his first tooth. During a morning Mothers' Group at the quality 'Coach and Horses', Jack had his first reunion of 2012 with all his mates, and discovered that both he and Clay, his best friend, had wobbly teeth. It seems to have then become a game to see who could wobble their teeth the best.
Needless to say, both Jack and Clay lost their teeth this evening!
Here is gappy Jack with his tooth in hand. We shall see what the tooth fairy does overnight....

I have sore arms... But it's worth it.
My front yard is now coming together. It was the dumping ground for all the soil from the backyard renovation and has spent the last 6 months or so as a big pile of dirt. We have spent the last few days levelling and paving.
Today I finished building the wall and leveled the soil, put in some fertiliser and dug it all in. I am fairly certain that my arms won't be working tomorrow, but our bins and composter now have a lovely paved home and I love the result:

Lake Eildon
We had another carvanning holiday at Lake Eildon. We were invited there by Vicky and Brad, the parents of Jack's friend from kinder (coincidentally called 'Jack').
Vicky and Brad's families and friends are all involved with the boating community on Lake Eildon. So on our first day in Eildon when it was 35 degrees, they invited us out on their 'day boat'. The day boat is like a big pontoon with a platform off the back to jump into the water. They drove the day boat out to the middle of the lake and tied it to a dead tree, and then Brad drove their speedboat up along side and tethered the two together. We then spent the day jumping in the lake from the day boat (particularly the kids in their life jackets - they jumped in an out of the water ALL day), and when we got bored, we would jump in the speedboat for a cruise around the lake. Jack and Justin had a ride in the 'biscuit', a tyre like thing which was towed behind the speed boat, and Vicky's dad had a water ski. It was just magnificent.
The following day was trout fishing at the local trout farm where Jack caught his first fish:
After that, we went back to the caravan park to practice bike riding on the grass opposite our caravan, and Jack made the transition to bike riding without training wheels!!! YAY!!

Wonthaggi
Between Christmas and New Year we had an absolutely fantastic three nights in Wonthaggi. Our friend, Tina has a permanent caravan down there with two of her sisters and their kids. We then came down with our three, and Kate came down with her three kids too. As a result, Jack and Cooper had LOADS of kids to play with and rode their bikes and scooters all around the park with the caravanning gang. It was a pretty small park so every 15 minutes or so, they would ride past our caravan so we could keep a track of them without having to watch them all the time.
We managed to put up our annex for the first time. Extremely frustrating, and took us over 2 hours. As it turns out, the instructions we didn't read told us what we needed to know. Who knew????
On our first night there, Justin and Shane took a car full of kids to the speedway to see some speedway car racing. Jack and Cooper thought that was pretty great. I stayed back at the caravan and had drinks with Tina in the annex. Perfect afternoon!
On the second day, my friend Kate came down with her kids, and we all had the day at the pool and again, the kids played on their scooters. They then set up bunk beds in our annex, Kate was on the floor on a camping mattress and they spent the night camping with us.
We put the kids to bed early, and then sat up talking rubbish and had a great night.
In the morning, it was 'keep the kids quiet until 8am by watching 'Cars2' on TV.
The following day, Kate went home, and Marcia came to visit for the day with her two kids. Again, spent the day in the pool and having a very relaxed, play-with-the-kids type day.
All in all, it was the most relaxed holiday I have had in an extremely long time. Lachlan is now old enough to not fall off things in the caravan, and Jack and Cooper were entertained for 3 whole days. A GREAT holiday.
